About 10 minutes by car from the City Center of Hoa Binh, Muong Hoa Binh Cultural Space Museum is situated on the slope of a small valley, which was once the residential area of the ancient Muong people. True to its name, the museum, with its spacious area, authentically and comprehensively showcases the cultural space of Muong people. The exhibits are not confined to display cases; instead, they are integrated into the everyday life and activities of Muong people.

The water wheels right at the entrance of the museum

The first impression that visitors encounter right at the entrance is the water wheel display - a truly familiar image in the life of the Muong. These watew wheels, perfectly rounded by the force of water flowing from the rocks, evoke the traditional rice cultivation techniques of ancient Muong people. Simultaneously, they symbolize the Muong people's cosmic worldview in motion.

Walking on a pathway paved with pebbles, winding through dense clusters of trees, a hidden Muong village gradually comes into view. Each stilt house represents a vivid and comprehensive reproduction of Muong people's living space. Visitors will be particularly impressed and surprised by the themed exhibits showcasing valuable artifacts such as traditional musical instruments (gongs, antique bronze incense burners, ancient bronze pots (a utensil for steaming sticky rice and food of the Muong ethnic group) and items reflecting the cultural life of Muong people. These include tools for fishing, weaving, hunting, funeral ceremonies, as well as utensils used in the daily life of ancient Muong families.

In the museum's courtyard area, visitors can experience traditional folk games that carry the distinctive cultural essence of Muong people.

Not only featuring beautiful natural landscapes, unique and aesthetically pleasing exhibition styles, and well-designed layouts, but the exhibited artifacts are also authentically reproduced, thanks to the artistic touch of Vu Duc Hieu, the owner of the museum.

When visiting Muong Hoa Binh Cultural Space Museum, tourists immerse themselves in the picturesque natural scenery of mountains and forests, subtly revealed on the hillside beyond the areca palm groves. Behind these palm groves, traditional stilt houses await guests with a simple, sincere, and remarkably warm hospitality. Savoring the flavor of local Can wine by the open fire, indulging in traditional Muong ethnic dishes, and listening to the stories of Muong people, visitors share in the simplicity that helps dispel the weariness of everyday life.
