From December 2-3, 2023, the People's Committee of Da Bac district organized the 2023 Da Bac District Culture, Sports and Tourism Promotion Festival in Hien Luong commune, Da Bac district. This was also one of the activities in the tourism stimulus program of Hoa Binh province in 2023.

The opening program held on the evening of December 2, 2023. Attending the opening ceremony were comrade Nguyen Van Toan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee along with leaders of departments, branches, branches, districts, cities and localities; media agencies; sponsoring units, etc. and most of all, the ethnic people of Da Bac district along with many tourists inside and outside the province.

The festival has 12 booths displaying, introducing and selling OCOP products, rich and diverse local cultural and tourist products. In which, the District Tourism Association has five booths, communes and towns have seven booths. In addition, there was a photo display area, an area for organizing folk games, cultural performances, a street food area, a beverage area, etc. attracted more than 1,000 people to visit, enjoy food, entertainment and did shopping. 

Athletes prepared to start the boat race

The Kayaking and walking tournament attracted nearly 100 athletes to participate in the following categories: Men's doubles, women's doubles, mixed doubles, bringing achievements: three first prizes, three second prizes, three third prizes and three encourage prizes. Organized a walk on the lakeside tourist route to protect the green - clean - beautiful environment and preserve the landscape of Hoa Binh Lake attracted over 500 participants, leaving a deep impression in the hearts of tourists and local residents.

At the end of the program, the Organizing Committee gave flowers to the units with the largest number of participants in walking and boat racing. The festival was successfully organized, linked the district's service, cultural and sports development activities to promote the destination, human image, cultural identity of Da Bac district's ethnic groups to domestic and international visitors.

Hien Luong commune has Hien Luong Bay which is planned to be developed into a tourist destination in the Master Plan for developing Hoa Binh Lake National Tourist Area, Hoa Binh province until 2030. The organization of Cultural and Sports Festivals Tourism promotion here will make an important contribution in introducing images, destinations, and tourism services to attract tourists and investors to Da Bac district in particular and Hoa Binh province in general.

Da Bac is a highland district of Hoa Binh province, blessed with a beautiful natural landscape of wild beauty, with a large Hoa Binh hydroelectric lake surface area mixed with rocky islands on the lake surface, just like Ha Long Bay on land. Settled next to the lake are villages of the Dao, Tay, and Muong ethnic groups that still preserve the typical cultural features of each ethnic group, which is a favorable condition for developing community tourism products - a type of tourism that is widely recognized, exploitation based on indigenous cultural values. According to the general construction planning of the National Tourism Area approved by the Prime Minister, Da Bac district has three subdivisions including Division 2: Hien Luong - Binh Thanh, Vay Nua concentrated tourism development area (belonging to Da Bac and Cao Phong districts) is an eco-tourism resort, entertainment, and sports area associated with the lake water surface, a new residential area in Da Bac district; Division 3: Wild nature and eco-tourism development area north of Hoa Binh lake ecosystem (in Cao Phong and Da Bac districts) is an area for preserving forest ecosystems, developing eco-tourism, experiences, and scientific research. Division 6: Natural ecological wildlife tourism subdivision associated with Phu Canh nature reserve (in Da Bac and Mai Chau districts) is an eco-tourism area associated with forest protection and development.
