LUY AI HAMLET COMMUNITY - BASED TOURISM It is about 33 km from Hoa Binh city, about 100 km from Hanoi capital and about 300 m from number 6 National Highway to Ai hamlet, Phong Phu commune (Tan Lac). Here is an ancient Muong village that still preserves many unique traditional cultural features of the Muong ethnic group. Since 2008, Ai hamlet has been recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a typical traditional village of ethnic minorities and a typical hamlet of the Muong ethnic group of Viet Nam. LUY AI HAMLET COMMUNITY - BASED TOURISM

It is about 33 km from Hoa Binh city, about 100 km from Hanoi capital and about 300 m from number 6 National Highway to Ai hamlet, Phong Phu commune (Tan Lac). Here is an ancient Muong village that still preserves many unique traditional cultural features of the Muong ethnic group.

Since 2008, Ai hamlet has been recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a typical traditional village of ethnic minorities and a typical hamlet of the Muong ethnic group of Viet Nam. Here, the simple and hospitable Muong ethnic people are always waiting for tourists to visit their homeland to introduce this ancient Muong land's cultural, historical and beautiful values.

Near Ai hamlet, visitors can visit some beautiful landscapes and caves in the Hoa Binh Lake area such as Trang waterfall, But cave, Hoa Tien cave, Ngoi Hoa Bay, ...

To arrive at Ai village, visitors need to cross a small bridge across the A stream. The stilt houses in Ai hamlet, behind the bamboo groves and fruit trees, surrounded by green mountains and terraces, still retain the architectural features bearing the traditional cultural values of the Muong people.

At the beginning of Ai hamlet, a clear stream flows like a welcome to visitors. Visitors can feel the fresh air and experience the rustic Muong village space with stilt houses leaning against the mountain. The central area of the hamlet has 34 Muong ethnic households. The households all keep the traditional house on stilts, with the architecture of the turtle model, which is well documented in the “De Dat, De Nuoc" (More soil, more water) famous epic book.

 Visitors can walk on a small winding road to enjoy the wild beauty and visit any stilt house to learn about Muong culture. The Muong people here are friendly and hospitable. They still retain the traditional way of life with fire stoves, ethnic costumes and many ancient labor tools such as fabric loom, rice mortar, bow, crossbow, hoe for farming, ... 

The Muong Ai people mainly live by farming and animal husbandry. Coming to Ai hamlet, visitors can experience daily activities with the villagers, such as farming, growing vegetables, fishing, raising cattle and poultry, picking bamboo shoots, dyeing fabrics, … Guests and hosts cook together typical dishes such as: Ca do (fish), Nuong sticky rice, chicken cooked with sour bamboo shoots, ... or learn to make traditional crafts and souvenirs from bamboo. Participate in folk games with the people such as Danh mang, pushing sticks, shooting crossbows, etc.

Especially, the people at Ai village still preserve many intangible cultural values such as Thuong rang, Bo meng, Doi singing, Ang mo, Chieng song, etc. Each family here also keeps 1-3 gongs. There are 21 gongs in the village. The hamlet has a Mo man who is recognized as an artisan, has a music team and a team of sound recordings to serve funerals and festivals.

Besides experiencing daily life and food, visitors can experience walking on bamboo bridges over streams, wading streams, watching water wheels, etc. In addition, near the Ai hamlet area, travelers can visit some scenic spots, beautiful landscapes and caves in the Hoa Binh Lake area, such as Trang waterfall, But cave, Hoa Tien cave, Ngoi Hoa bay...

Luy Ai hamlet has a spacious cultural house and is fully equipped with cultural equipment.
