Meddom Park (Park of Vietnamese Scientists' Heritage) is nestled in a valley in Bac Phong commune, Cao Phong district. Meddom is dedicated to the mission of preserving and promoting the heritage value of scientists, historical research works in various scientific fields, educational history, and socio-political history.

Tourists visit, experience and explore Meddom Park

Spread over a 34-hectare area, Meddom Park features diverse natural landscapes with over 300 species of native and unique plants from both domestic and foreign regions, creating a rich vegetation carpet with abundant genetic resources. Species like fir trees, pines, white thingan, bamboo, Ven Ven (local trees), etc all interconnect to form overlapping forests. Winding through the grounds is a network of lakes, meandering streams, and cascading water.

Amidst this green space, Meddom Park emphasizes investing in uniquely designed architectural structures finely integrated with the natural landscape, serving both aesthetic and functional purposes, such as Book Building, Butterfly Building, Peacock House, Lady Bug Villa, and Harmony Bridge.

The Book Building, a unique architectural structure designed in the shape of an open book, encourages visitors to explore a vast treasure trove of knowledge inside. Here, Meddom experts work tirelessly day and night to collect, process, preserve, and exhibit the most valuable heritage and documents of Vietnamese scientists. The Butterfly Building takes the form of a giant butterfly, brightly colored and perched amidst the mountains and forests. It serves as an ideal venue for events and exhibitions showcasing famous musical works by local composers. The Lady Bug Villa surprises visitors with its resemblance to a lady bug nestled under lush pine trees. It consists of six rooms named Earth, Venus, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn, each conveying distinctive information about these celestial bodies. The villa creates a sensation of drifting through the Milky Way, fostering a creative environment for young children to explore the science of astronomy.

Besides its closeness to nature, deep inside, each structure in Meddom Park also possesses high educational value and aims to reconnect visitors with the cultural identity of ethnic groups. This includes the Heritage House, where cultural spaces of ethnic groups are recreated through traditional patterns and pathways shaped like traditional musical instruments. The Quy Hop Vien steel bridge is modeled after images from Khue Van Cac, symbolizing encouragement for learning and inspiring passion for research and creativity through symbols of chemical elements in Mendeleev's periodic table and the periodic cycle of water arranged on both sides of the walkway. Additionally, Meddom offers children opportunities to experience scientific games and various educational activities that enhance life skills.

From 2016 until now, every year Meddom Park, the Heritage Park of Vietnamese Scientists, attracts thousands of visitors, becoming a beloved destination for many tourists nationwide. It is a unique model of heritage and cultural park, with the core value being the heritage of Vietnamese scientists. To date, Meddom Park has approached and studied nearly 3,000 scientists from all fields of science, collecting nearly one million artifacts, hundreds of thousands of recorded memories minutes, and stories of Vietnamese scientists. These documents and artifacts, spanning various scientific disciplines, have become invaluable heritage, evidence of the history of scientific development and the nation's history. In addition to meticulously collecting and preserving these materials, Meddom Park also fulfills its mission to promote the value of these heritage blocks.
