National online conference on tourism in 2023 “Speed up recovery - Accelerate development”

On March 15, 2023 at the online meeting room of the People's Committee of Hoa Binh province, Mr. Dinh Cong Su, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of the provincial Departments, Departments and branches attended the national online conference on tourism in 2023 with the content "Speed up recovery - Accelerating development". The conference was chaired by Mr. Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister, and attended by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, leaders of ministries, branches, 63 provinces and cities, tourism associations, businesses, and airline agencies.

In the opening remarks, the Prime Minister stated that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused heavy damage to economic sectors, especially the tourism industry. But under the leadership of the Party, the management of the State, the participation of the whole political system, the efforts of the people, the business community, the help of international friends, we have overcome through the pandemic. The Party and State have paid great attention to and grasped the situation to come up with appropriate solutions and countermeasures.

According to the Prime Minister, in 2023 and in the future, immigration barriers due to COVID-19 will be removed, which will bring opportunities and advantages but also many difficulties and challenges for tourism competition. To develop tourism to really become a spearhead economic sector, it is required to find solutions for implementation. The Prime Minister requested leaders of ministries, branches, localities and businesses to discuss and analyze carefully the situation, opportunities, advantages and disadvantages; causes, lessons learned in tourism development in the past time and solutions for tourism development in the coming time; international experience in tourism development.

The participants of the conference proposed solutions on infrastructure development; tourism promotion and advertising; ensure hygiene and environment; the development of culture associated with tourism; mobilize resources, especially public-private cooperation for tourism development; visa policy, labor policy, technology, etc. to create a breakthrough in tourism development.

Speaking at the conclusion of the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh assigned the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to assume the prime responsibility for, and coordinate with the Government Office and relevant agencies in, seriously assimilate the comments and suggestions, soon complete and submit for promulgation the Government's Resolution on accelerating recovery - accelerating effective and sustainable tourism development.

For Hoa Binh province, in order to speed up the recovery and speed up tourism development of the province, in the coming time, it is advisable to focus on implementing a number of specific tasks as follows: Completing the Hoa Binh Provincial Planning in the period 2021-2030, vision to 2050 and implementation of zoning plans together with the general planning to build Hoa Binh lake national tourist area, Hoa Binh Province to 2035; Focus on investing in transport infrastructure such as Lang Hoa Lac road connecting to Hoa Binh City, routes connecting tourist attractions; Formulating mechanisms and policies to support tourism development; Building high-quality eco-tourism, convalescence and entertainment products; Step up the propaganda, promotion, tourism investment promotion and digitization of tourist destinations; Promote cooperation in tourism development with regional and inter-regional provinces, especially cooperation with major provinces and cities to connect state management agencies and tourism businesses jointly expand the tourist market and promote tourism development.
